High water hits Philomath

The heavy rains throughout western Oregon this weekend were forecast to cause flooding on the Marys River, but Philomath looks to have escaped with minimal damage, despite National Weather Service warnings that the river might flood.

Local rivers expected to reach flood stage

With a storm continuing to dump inches of rain, the National Weather Service issued flood warnings Saturday night for the Santiam River near Jefferson and Mehama, the Luckiamute River near Suver and the Marys River — all of which are expected to hit flood stage today.
